Second Medical Office Building coming to Elk Grove in 2010

To better meet the needs of our growing membership in Elk Grove, plans are under way for a second medical office building in the community. Construction of the new $45 million facility is expected to start next year and open in 2010.

It will be built on a 7.5-acre site north of Elk Grove Promenade, the new shopping center under construction northwest of Highway 99 and Grantline Road. The two-story medical facility will be similar in size to our Wyndham Medical Offices—between 60,000 and 70,000 square feet. The new facility will offer adult medicine, pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, laboratory, and pharmacy services.

This new facility is important to Kaiser Permanente’s plans for South Sacramento and Elk Grove. “This new facility will allow us to expand our services in Elk Grove, where half of the residents are members of Kaiser Permanente,” said Max Villalobos, senior vice president and area manager, South Sacramento. “It is also important to our plans to increase the subspecialty services we provide at South Sacramento to care for trauma patients.” Surgery, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, and Oncology departments will expand at South Sacramento once the new Elk Grove medical office opens.

This will be the third Kaiser Permanente medical office in the South Sacramento Service Area. Wyndham Medical Offices, located adjacent to our South Sacramento Medical Center, opened in 2004, and our Elk Grove Medical Offices, located off Big Horn Boulevard in Laguna Creek, opened in 2003.
