Educational Theater Program
Providing a community benefit, Kaiser Permanente offers productions
and workshops free of charge to eligible schools and community groups
through our Educational Theatre Program. Educational Theatre Programs
(ETP) use live theatre, music, comedy and drama to inspire children,
teens and adults to make healthier choices and better decisions about
their well-being.
ETP's live, interactive performances capture students' attention while
creating an emotional connection that makes the show's health issues
real to them. ETP has six basic productions, each addressing different
topics. "Zip's Great Day" discusses nutrition, exercise, and
conflict resolution; "Peace Signs" talks about violence prevention;
"Nightmare on Puberty Street" touches on peer pressure and
early adolescence; and "Secrets" is about HIV/AIDS/STD prevention;
“The Best Me” is about healthy eating, active living for
students in grades 3-5; and “Community Troop” can do mini-versions
of the shows and help with specific events like conferences. To inquire
about booking a performance for a local school, go to www.kp.org/etp
or call (510) 987-2223.
