Fitness

The Nutrition Fuels Fitness 5K/10K & Family Festival is an annual event created to promote healthy lifestyles through exercise and fun. There also is a Kids' Fun Run for children. This was a great event for family and friends to learn about health and nutrition while having fun by partaking in fun fitness activities, music, and games offered at the festival. Participants received free t-shirts and a complimentary breakfast. Proceeds are used to fund childhood obesity prevention programs. Educating people now about their health can prevent problems from occurring in the future. For information on next year's event, visit www.nutritionfuelsfitness.org.

Western Festival

Western Festival

Congratulations to this year's 49th Annual Elk Grove Western Festival Parade participants! Since this year's parade theme was children's books, the Kaiser Permanente float showcased "The Hungry Little Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. It was a great way to celebrate our Thrive campaign. Our entry took second place honors in the commercial division. We hope to regain our first place title next year at the 50th Anniversary of the Western Festival.

Oak Park Community Center Children's Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt

This Kaiser sponsored community event was a fun-filled treat for the children and also a wonderful opportunity for the Oak Park community to come together. The Egg Hunt featured children running around searching for eggs and other treats. The lucky children found plastic eggs redeemable for special prizes by the Easter Bunny. The Oak Park Community Center is looking to plan more activities for the community for all ages.

MLK Day of Service at Luther Burbank High School

MLK Cleanup

In support of the Thrive campaign, Kaiser Permanente partnered with Hands On Sacramento and Rebuilding Together to do clean-up and repair work at Luther Burbank High School in South Sacramento on January 16, 2006. In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we wanted to help our communities and those in need by volunteering our personal time and energy. This event brought together many students, community members, and Kaiser employees for a day filled with hard work and dedication.
